Collins' squirrel monkey occurs in the eastern Brazilian Amazon and is omnivorous. It often uses the middle and lower forest strata and sometimes descends to the ground to feed on insects.
The crown and back are yellowish gray-olive, with white stripes above the eyes and small tufts on the ears. The arms, legs, and hands are yellow-orange, and the tail ends in a large black brush.
It uses middle and lower tree layers, sometimes reaching the canopy, and comes to the ground mainly to feed on insects. Its diet also includes fruit, land mollusks, small vertebrates, and arthropods. It has been recorded in heavily modified rural and urban forest fragments.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
