This small antwren inhabits lowland forest in southern Venezuela, eastern Colombia, and northwestern Brazil. Males show black-and-white streaks and a pale yellow throat.
Males have a black crown and back with white streaks, a pale yellow shoulder patch, and pale yellow underparts with a few black flank streaks. Females have buff to rufous-buff streaks above and lack the male’s shoulder patch.
It uses the canopy and subcanopy of lowland forest on white-sand to mixed soils. It gleans small invertebrates from foliage and may forage in pairs or mixed-species flocks.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
