This shrew has records from many parts of Sulawesi. In a field observation, a captured individual that was temporarily released climbed a moss-covered tree trunk.
The back is gray to brown, with a somewhat paler underside. Short hairs lie close to the tail and are densely distributed along it.
Specimens were recorded in surveyed forest environments ranging from lowland tropical rainforest to moss forest. The paper reports a captured individual climbing a moss-covered vertical trunk after being temporarily released, and another caught about 1.5 m above ground in a reptile sticky trap set on a tree trunk.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
