This jerboa lives in foothill semi-deserts of Central Asia. It has a grayish-ochre back and a long tail ending in a black-and-white flag. The Mammal Diversity Database currently lists it as Scarturus vinogradovi.
The back is light grayish ochre, with faint dark streaks that become stronger toward the rear. The long tail ends in a flag with a large black field and a smaller white tip.
It inhabits foothill semi-desert with sparse wormwood, ephemeral plants, and saltwort. The account says it favors clay and loam, avoids stony ground, and may occur along unploughed field edges.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
