The agile mangabey lives in forests of central Africa, mostly north of the Congo River. Its back is darker gray-brown and its underside is lighter. It favors the forest understory and often uses the ground while feeding or travelling.
The back fur is dark brownish gray, while the underside is a lighter fawn color. The skin on the hands and feet is black, and hair radiates from a whorl above the forehead.
It favors the lower forest and is generally terrestrial while feeding or travelling.
