The hoary marmot is a large rodent of high mountains, marked by gray shoulders and a white nose.
Its back is grayish and its rump is brown. A black stripe runs down the nose to a white marking at the tip.
It eats mountain plants such as grasses and flowers. It is active in the morning and afternoon and hibernates in a burrow during winter.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
