The Arctic lemming is a small rodent of the Eurasian tundra. Its coat is grayish in summer and white in winter, and it may store foods such as willows.
The summer coat is grayish, with reddish tones on the head and sides. It turns white in winter, while the back pattern and pale collar-like band vary from west to east.
Records from the Yamal Peninsula place it on slopes in moss tundra with dwarf birch. It feeds on willows, Dryas, and other herbs, and stores food in side tunnels during summer.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
