Its dense, pale coat has large black patches, and its furry tail is longer than the head and body, with a white tip. It was reported from Bahia, Brazil; captive observations and local reports describe aspects of its behavior.
The dense fur ranges from white to light gray, with broad glossy black markings on the head, neck, and back. The furry tail is longer than head and body together, with its terminal third white.
In captivity it readily climbed trees and preferred fruit. Reports that it is nocturnal and rarely seen by day came from local hunters, not from a controlled field study.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
