This kite lives in forests across the Neotropics. It watches from a perch and hunts mainly lizards and insects.
The edge of its upper bill has pointed, tooth-like notches. The name refers to the bill shape, not actual teeth.
It often waits on a perch and swoops for lizards and insects. In parts of its range it follows monkey troops for prey they flush, rather than hunting the monkeys themselves.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
