The Whistling Kite is a medium-sized raptor with sandy-brown plumage, a narrow head, and a rounded tail. It circles over woodland, wetlands, and farms while giving a whistling call.
It has a slim body, narrow head, and rounded tail. Its sandy-brown plumage has pale streaks, and the long wings have dark outer tips.
It searches from the air over land, trees, and water. Outside the breeding season it mainly eats carrion; during breeding it takes small mammals, birds, fish, and insects.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
