This quail-dove was studied in Panama’s montane forest, where records show ground foraging and courtship.
The crown and nape are russet chestnut, the upper neck is olive-dark grey, and the back and tail are vinaceous. A pale pinkish ear patch is edged in black.
Camera records at the study reserve show frequent cross-trail walking and foraging, with courtship on the ground. Birds also pecked while walking.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
