A 2021 study documented the Gazella arabica dareshurii population on Farur Island in Iran’s Persian Gulf. It is mainly active by day, sometimes at night, and in the dry season feeds chiefly on Acacia tortilis leaves, flowers, and pods.
The Farur Island population has pale sandy-brown fur. The paper contrasts it with the deep chocolate-brown coloration reported for Gazella arabica muscatensis in Oman.
The gazelles are mainly browsers, active by day and partly at night. Umbrella thorn (Acacia tortilis) is their main food in the dry season; they also feed on other shrubs, grasses, and herbs.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
