The chinkara is a small gazelle of dry parts of South Asia. It can go for a long time without water, an adaptation to arid environments.
Its summer coat is reddish buff. In winter, the white fur on its belly and throat stands out more.
It can remain without water for a long time and is usually solitary, though it sometimes forms small groups of two to four.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
