Geoffroy's Parrot is a medium-sized parrot that eats fruit and flower buds. It feeds in pairs or small groups in the treetops and calls noisily around dawn and dusk.
In the nominate subspecies, the male has red across the forehead and sides of the face, a lilac-blue crown and hindcrown, and a green nape; the female has a brown head. The species has 15 subspecies with regional color differences.
It leaves its roost early to feed on fruit, nuts, and flower buds in the treetops, usually in pairs or small groups. It becomes noisy again near dusk as it returns to roost.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
