The Lesser Bird of Paradise lives in forests of northwestern New Guinea. Males court females with vivid colors and long ornamental plumes.
The male has a yellow crown, green throat, and long yellow-brown flank plumes. The female is mostly brown and lacks the male's long display plumes.
Males change posture on display branches or a court and spread their plumes to court females.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
