This mouse lives in the Atlantic Forest of southeastern South America and uses lower and middle levels of the vegetation.
The back is pale orange-brown, the underside is white to cream, and the tail is differently coloured above and below.
It is mainly arboreal in the lower and middle strata of mature and secondary forest. Its reported foods include fruit pulp and small seeds.
