The Hook-billed Hermit lives in a limited part of Brazil's eastern Atlantic Forest. It drinks flower nectar and also eats small arthropods.
Its upperparts have a glossy bronze-green sheen, while the underside is cinnamon-colored. White lines mark the area above and beside the eye, and the outer tail feathers have white tips.
It feeds on flower nectar as well as small arthropods. It is recorded near Heliconia along streams in humid forest, and Oiseaux.net describes it as sedentary.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
