This small tyrant flycatcher inhabits coastal mountain forest in southeastern Brazil. Olive-green upperparts, gray underparts, and white eye markings help identify it.
The upperparts are greenish olive; the underside and side of the head are gray. White spectacles and a pale stripe lie above black lores; there are no distinct wing bars.
It uses dense coastal montane forest by day, with records at about 950–2,150 m. It eats insects and is described sallying from surfaces to catch them.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
