This small bat feeds mainly on flower nectar and pollen, using its long snout to reach flowers. It also carries pollen between flowers.
Its back is reddish brown and its underside paler. A dark stripe runs from the head down the neck, and the snout is long and narrow.
Its peak foraging time is dusk, but it has been recorded active by day and night, feeding mostly on nectar and pollen. It rests beneath leaves, on branches, or under roofs, often alone; a mother may roost with her young.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
