The Sumatran Green Pigeon lives in evergreen forest on Sumatra and western Java. It eats fruit, especially figs, and may form groups while feeding.
The adult male has dark-green upperparts, a glossy olive throat and breast, and a bright yellow lower belly with green markings. The female lacks the male's blue-grey eye area and has less orange on the breast.
It feeds mainly on fruit, especially figs, and usually gathers in small groups while feeding.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
