The western yellow-backed duiker is an antelope of African lowland forests, recognized by the triangular yellow patch on its back.
It has a heavy-set body, slender legs and a red tuft between its short horns. A triangular patch of yellow fur marks the back near the rump.
It mainly eats fruit and seeds, as well as shoots, buds, bark and roots. It starts foraging at night and rests in undergrowth during the day.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
