The Gambaga Flycatcher is a small flycatcher identified in part by faint breast streaks and a yellowish-orange lower mandible. It occurs in Africa and southwestern Arabia; breeding activity was observed in Yemen in May.
It has a rounded head, a short bill with a yellowish-orange lower mandible, faint breast streaking, and little or no streaking on the forehead. In flight, wing-bars are its only distinctive markings.
During May observations in Yemen, birds were active in pairs and often called. Nest-building was recorded in an acacia fork; in one observed case the female brought material while the male sang nearby.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
