The Spice Imperial Pigeon is a large fruit-eating pigeon found on islands off western New Guinea. A black knob at the base of its bill and iridescent green wings help identify it.
It is about 41–43 cm long. The head and breast are silvery grey with a pink wash, and the bill has an enlarged black knob. The rump and wing coverts shimmer green; the sexes are similar.
It uses primary, secondary, logged forest, and mangroves, feeding on fruit. It forages alone or in pairs and gathers in small groups at fruiting trees.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
