A minivet with rosy patches. Chinese populations migrate, while some birds in other populations also move seasonally.
Adult males have grey upperparts and rosy pink on the rump, chest and belly. Females are grey-olive above, with yellow where the male is pink.
It searches foliage for insects and other invertebrates. Chinese populations migrate, while other populations are partly migratory.
