A small eagle seen around rivers and lakes. Adults are marked by a white belly and yellow eyes, and the species often uses fast-flowing foothill streams.
Adults are gray-brown with yellow eyes and a sharply defined white belly. Juveniles are paler and browner, with faint streaking underneath.
It favors fast-flowing foothill streams and riverine forest, but also occurs at lowland lakes and wetlands. In some regions it uses alternative, suboptimal habitats.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
