This small antbird, about 12 cm long, occurs on the Guiana Shield. It searches for insects around vine tangles and forest edges.
Males have a black crown with white streaking; females have pale buff streaks on the crown. The back is olive, and a white eyebrow line is visible.
It gleans insects from low vegetation and vine tangles several metres above the ground. It sometimes follows army-ant swarms.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
