A slender white heron with black legs and bright yellow feet that searches shallow water for small aquatic animals.
Adults have white bodies, black legs, and yellow feet. Long plumes grow on the back, neck, and head during the breeding season.
It stirs shallow water with its yellow feet or probes mud to uncover prey, then catches it with its bill.
It nests colonially in dense vegetation. The male starts the nest before pairing; afterward, the female does most of the construction using materials supplied by the male.
Adults have a yellow patch of bare skin between the eye and bill base. Immatures resemble the white adults but have dull yellowish-green legs.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
