The Spangled Honeyeater lives in montane forest and tall secondary growth on Papua New Guinea’s Huon Peninsula. Its plumage is almost entirely black, with white spots below.
The plumage is almost wholly satin black, with a bright yellow patch around the eyes and white spots across much of the underparts.
It forages in the canopy or subcanopy of montane forest and tall secondary growth, usually alone or in pairs. Its diet is poorly known and is thought to be mainly fruit.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
