The black-crowned dwarf marmoset is a small monkey known from a limited area of central Amazonian Brazil. The Mammal Diversity Database lists it in Mico but notes that this placement remains tentative.
Its body fur ranges from golden to grayish yellow over a darker layer. The face and ears are bare, with a triangular crown of fur, white eyebrow lines extending toward the temples, and a long black tail. Its coloration changes with age.
When fruit is scarce in winter, it feeds on tree sap and gum, clinging vertically to trunks and using its strong nails to open holes in the bark.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
