A wild goat of the mountains of Central Asia. The traits here follow a zoo account for the Tadjik markhor subspecies.
Tadjik markhor males have large, twisted horns; females have smaller horns.
In this subspecies, males are mostly solitary outside the rut, while females live in groups. Male contests using the horns occur during the rut.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
