This lark lives in open parts of Madagascar. Its pale-brown body has dark streaks, and it searches for seeds and small insects on the ground.
The upperparts are pale brown with dark-brown streaks, and the breast is densely streaked. The underparts are whitish, and the outer tail feathers are pale.
It uses grassland, dry scrub, and open woodland, and avoids dense forest. It runs or makes short flights while picking up seeds and insects from the ground.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
