The Yellow-billed Cardinal is a small South American bird with a red head and yellow bill. It forages on the ground near wetlands for seeds, berries, and insects.
Adults have a bright red head, orange-yellow bill, dark throat, and gray upperparts. White underparts rise around the back of the head like a collar.
It often stays near marshes, lakes, and rivers in pairs or family groups, sometimes gathering in larger flocks. It feeds on the ground on seeds, plant shoots, berries, and insects.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
