Male Croaking Ground Doves have a bluish head and pinkish tones on the neck and breast. In Peru they feed on small seeds on the ground in open places, often in pairs or in flocks at feeding sites.
The plumage is mainly brown. Males have a bluish head and pinkish-gray tones on the neck and breast; females are duller and browner. In both sexes, nearly half of the bill is yellow-orange.
In Peru it uses open and semi-open habitat, including towns, and eats tiny seeds and grains from the ground. It is usually seen in pairs, but may gather in flocks at food sources.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
