The pale grey head and dark facial bands are distinctive. This parakeet lives in coastal forest on a small group of Nicobar Islands.
Adults have a yellow-green body, pale grey head, a black band from forehead through the eye, and another black band from the chin around the neck. The male has a red upper bill; the female has an all-black bill and a shorter tail.
It is active by day and feeds mainly on fruit and nectar. Published information on its wild diet is limited, so this account stays at that broad level.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
