The White-bellied Munia has a dark chestnut head and back that contrast sharply with its white belly. The Borneo field guide describes it moving and feeding in small flocks.
Its head and upperparts are dark chestnut brown, sharply demarcated from a clean white belly.
It travels in small, active flocks and feeds low in vegetation on grass and weed seeds.
