This woodcreeper has olive-brown upperparts and a reddish-brown tail. In forests of eastern Paraguay and northeastern Argentina, researchers also recorded it foraging with groups of monkeys.
The upperparts are olive-brown, with fine pale buff streaks on the head. The tail is reddish brown; the wings are close in color to the back, and fine streaks may show on the front of the neck.
In eastern Paraguay and northeastern Argentina, it was repeatedly recorded foraging with groups of black capuchins. Adults attending nests often moved alone; one observation also recorded birds foraging near the ground at an army-ant swarm.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
