The Spectacled Prickletail occurs on the eastern Andes of Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. It searches for food in the middle and lower canopy of humid montane forest.
Adults have rufous-brown upperparts and crown, a white eye-ring and eyebrow, and an orange-rufous throat. Whitish streaks run down the throat and breast; wispy tail tips form a fork.
It forages in the mid-story and subcanopy of humid montane forest, often with mixed-species flocks.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
