The Indian Pitta is a colorful ground-dwelling bird of scrub and forest in the Indian subcontinent. It moves between regions seasonally.
Its plumage combines green, blue, buff, black, and white, with red on the belly and tail. The sexes look alike.
It searches among leaf litter for insects and other small invertebrates, then roosts in trees.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
