This cicadabird occurs in the Palau Islands. The current species account lists forest and shrubland habitat.
Baker’s 1951 account of Palau specimens describes males as blue-purple with a black face and throat, and females as brown and ochre.
Baker examined 23 specimens and reported insects and plant fragments in the stomach of one female.
