The male Araripe Manakin stands out with red, white, and black plumage and a forward-sweeping red crest. It is restricted to spring-fed forest and feeds mainly on fruit.
The male combines red, white, and black, with a forward-sweeping red crest. Females and juveniles are dull olive green with smaller crests.
It uses low and middle levels of gallery forest along spring-fed streams. Males display from perches by raising their wings and tails while singing; females nest in low shrubs near the water and raise the young. Fruit is the main food, with insects also eaten.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
