The Lark-like Brushrunner occurs in the Chaco, Espinal, and Monte regions of southern South America. A field study observed flock members helping to build nests and feed young.
The study distinguished individuals with darker and paler plumage. Darker birds showed strong rufous, white, and black contrast, with a rufous band and black tail tip.
Other flock members help build nests and feed the young. In one observed example, six birds carried material and shaped a nest in a little over 24 hours.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
