The New Britain Friarbird is a large honeyeater found in the Bismarck Archipelago. It uses forest canopy and also occurs in wooded gardens and plantations.
Adults are dark brown with a fluffy grey collar at the back of the neck and a bare dark facial patch. The sexes are similar, though males are larger.
It searches the canopy for nectar and arthropods. It has been recorded feeding alone, in pairs, and in small groups.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
