The Groundscraper Thrush searches for food on the ground in grassland and open woodland. Its spotted breast and bold black facial stripes are distinctive.
It has long legs and a short tail, gray-brown upperparts, spotted white underparts, and black stripes below and behind the eye. Large buff patches show on the broad wings in flight.
Pairs and small groups use grassland and open woodland. The bird runs across the ground while hunting invertebrates, then stops upright and flicks its wings.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
