This arboreal rat is recorded in subtropical forest in Sangay National Park, Ecuador. The description includes captures on the ground and a short distance above ground.
Its back is yellow-brown to orange-brown, while the underside is whitish, with pale yellow tones perceptible in some individuals.
Of three animals in the paper, two were captured on the ground and one 1.8 m above it. The authors suggest it may descend to forage.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
