The Turquoise Dacnis is endemic to Colombia’s Andes. Adult males are blue-green and black, while females are mostly brown above; its diet is still poorly known.
Adult males are mainly blue-green and black, with a yellow iris and a turquoise eye-ring that interrupts the black mask. Females have dull brown upperparts and pale gray to buff underparts.
It uses humid Andean forest, oak woodland, forest edges, and open areas with trees, moving in the canopy and subcanopy. Its diet is poorly known, but records include fruit, arthropods, and nectar.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
