A honeyeater of eastern and southeastern Australia. Its olive back, black crown and white nape band are distinctive.
Adults have an olive back, black crown and a white nape band that does not reach the eye, with an orange crescent of bare skin above the eye. Juveniles lack the black crown and have a dull or absent white nape band.
