The Voi shrew is a shrew with a sharp contrast between its slate-gray back and pale underside. Its tail is short, about half the length of its head and body.
Its back is slate-colored and its underside dull yellowish or grayish white. The upper lip and feet are whitish, and the tail was described as scarcely half the head-and-body length.
A 2019 Kenya checklist records it in very dry savannas and coastal forests.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
