The Bare-throated Bellbird is striking for the male's white plumage and bare green throat. Males give loud, metallic-sounding calls, and the species feeds on fruit.
The male is white apart from the bare jade-green sides of the head and throat. The female has olive upperparts, a gray head, and a yellow, streaked underside.
The male's metallic-sounding call carries over long distances. The bird eats small fruits and helps disperse their seeds.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
