Specimens of this vole were recorded in southeastern Xizang (Tibet), China.
The paper describes the specimens as having black-brown fur, darker on the back and paler gray-white underneath. The color changes gradually between the back and belly.
The paper reports specimens collected from abandoned farmland and along paths beside fields where highland barley was grown. These are recorded collection settings, not a survey of the species' full habitat preferences.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
