A small, pale lark that runs along the ground while feeding in dry, open country. It can be hard to distinguish from similar short-toed larks where their ranges meet.
It is pale, with a short, finch-like bill, heavy streaks on the breast and flanks, and no well-defined eyebrow.
It feeds on the ground in open country with shrubs, grasses, and broad patches of bare soil, running low as it searches.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
